History comes alive this Saturday as Westmoore Pottery hosts the 6th NC Regiment. The regiment members will set up an encampment from 9-5 at Westmoore Pottery, showing the life of 18th century soldiers and followers. Also, all reenactors of any part of the time period 1600 - 1870 who visit Westmoore Pottery on this day in period dress will receive a discount on purchases.

Mary Farrell of Westmoore Pottery will attend this pottery festival at Historic Brattonsville in McConnells, SC with a full range of Westmoore's work for sale. The Piedmont Pottery Festival highlights traditional pottery from NC, SC, and Georgia and is open 10am-4pm to the public.

Westmoore Pottery: 18th Century Trade Fair at Fort Dobbs |

David Farrell of Westmoore Pottery will be at Fort Dobbs in Statesville, NC as a sutler, with wares appropriate to the 18th century. He will once again be in period dress, selling from our handmade wooden hand cart. Visitors can view historic trades and crafts, battle reenactments, lectures by scholars, and encampments of military, civilian, and native Americans.

In November of each year, Westmoore Pottery marks the anniversary of its founding in 1977 (33 years this year!) by celebrating both our own and North Carolina's pottery heritage. Our focus this year will be on styles made by North Carolina's non-Moravian potters who were working in the 18th and early 19th centuries. The official Westmoore Pottery scrapbooks will also be hauled out for the day.

Westmoore Pottery will have a booth at the SAPA-sponsored Celebration of Seagrove Potters this year.
Please join us and over 60 other area potters at the Luck's Bean Plant on Highway 705 south of the town of Seagrove. For best viewing and shopping, attend the Gala Preview Party.
Friday night, November 19th, 6 pm, Gala Preview Party. (Attend this for early selection plus music, food, and one auction. Tickets required in advance.)
Saturday, November 20th from 9-6, regular admission price at the door. (Demos, kids' activities, educational talks, one auction.)
Sunday, November 21st, from 10 - 4, admission at the door. (Final day of displays and sales.)

Join the folks at Westmoore Pottery this Saturday, from 9am to 5pm, as they celebrate the holiday season. The shop will be decorated for the holidays, and a kiln load of pottery will be unloaded, including special pieces made just for this day. Refreshments will be served.
